Canadian boxer Tammara Thibeault fought her way to a world championship gold medal on Friday at the 2022 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships in Istanbul. Thibeault, of Regina, took a split decision (4-1) over against Atheyna Bylon of Panama in the middleweight (70-75 kilograms) final.

L’athlète de 25 ans a défait en grande finale la Panaméenne Atheyna Bylon. Il s’agit d’une première victoire d’importance pour la native de Saint-Georges, qui avait représenté le Canada aux derniers Jeux olympiques, à Tokyo.
